Robin Van Persie

Robin Van Persie was born on 6 August 1983 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was born to a family of a painter and a tutor. His parents are Bob and Jose ras van Persie. He is a famous Dutch footballer of this era and plays as a Center Forward(CF)/Striker(ST).

 

During his childhood he was greatly influenced by his father and his interest was football. He was also a fan of the British club Arsenal as just like his father Bob was. From early on his dream was to play for Arsenal. As he was fond of playing football, he used to play different tournaments at school and won most of them. indeed he was the best player at his school while studying in Grade 2, 3, and 4. He also won many trophies in school. His mind was built for football so he used to skip classes to go play football. He dropped out of school at grade 4. Bob knew that his future was in football. Thus, he didn't reprimand Robin but instead sent him to football training school.

 

At the age of 16 the result of his training was seen, Feyenoord signed him. An injury crisis at Feyenoord meant he was quickly promoted into the first team and made his debut for the club at the age of 17. Van Persie signed a three-and-a-half-year professional contract with Feyenoord and scored five goals in a 6–1 KNVB Cup thrashing of AGOVV Apeldoorn on 6 February 2003. During his first season, he won the UEFA Europa League. He spent some years there and fell out with the manager. 

 

Arsene Wenger (Arsenal’s manager) had his eye on Van Persie and signed him on to Arsenal on 17 May 2004. He was a winger and Wenger transformed him to CF due to the lack of players. After the retirement of Bergkamp Van Persie became a regular member of Arsenal. He won the PL golden boot during his last season and signed for Red Devils. He won PL boot again but with PL title too. After two injuries he was traded to Fenerbahce S.K after the 2014 World Cup. During the 2014 World Cup, he lead the Dutch to the Semifinals as a captain and won the 3rd place scoring 4 goals. He spent approximately 3 years and returned to his childhood club Feyenoord in 2018. He played 34 games scoring 20 goals. He retired on 12 May 2019.

 

He scored more than 250 goals during his career winning the title of the most scoring player of Holland. He is also known as Junior Johan Cruffy due to his ability and talent. He was married to Dibe Bouchra and has 2 children Shaqueel and Dina van Persie. Now he is free from all the pressure and is looking for the next chapter of his life after football.
